Red Line South Action Center

On May 19, the southern portion of the CTA’s Red Line train will be closed from Cermak/Chinatown to 95th/Dan Ryan for a massive reconstruction project that will last five months. More than 40,000 daily riders will need to navigate temporary shuttle buses and alternate routes.

Riders for Better Transit will be working hard to ensure that this process goes as smoothly as possible for everyone involved and that the CTA keeps its promise to get people where they need to go.

Here are three easy actions you can take to make sure the Red Line shutdown doesn’t slow you down:

Get Informed

Check out our handy list of tips for getting around and staying informed during the project.

Take Action

Sign the Riders Bill of Rights to help ensure the needs and voices of 40,000 daily riders are acknowledged and respected.

Spread the Word
