We envision a comprehensive network of trails, sidewalks, bike lanes and transit that allows residents to explore the natural resources and vibrant character of communities by using active transportation.
Suburban communities make up more than half of the region’s population. Our Suburban Ambassadors work with community members, sub-regional organizations, towns and park districts in the Southland, West Suburbs and North Suburbs to create biking and walking plans, expand trails and infrastructure and implement encouragement and safety programs.
Our work in Chicago and as consultants to the Chicago Department of Transportation has gained Chicago its reputation as one of the best cities for biking in the country, and we are strengthening this work to reach across the city. Our community liaisons work in underserved neighborhoods and populations to address inequalities, grow excitement and make sure everyone in the city has access to safe, healthy and reliable options for biking, walking and transit.
